What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy aims to restore proper function to the body. Whether caused by acute injury or long term changes, physiotherapy can help with the effective treatment of pain and dysfunction.

What can Physiotherapy help with?

Physiotherapy commonly helps treat conditions like neck and back pain, sciatica, disc damage, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, bursitis, arthritis, ankle sprains and post-operative rehabilitation.

What does treatment involve?

Treatment can involve one or more of the following, but we always try and give you something to work on between sessions to help you self-manage.

  • Manipulation or mobilization of joints
  • Soft tissue mobilization
  • Acupuncture
  • Taping
  • Ultrasound [therapeutic] / Electrotherapy
  • Rehabilitation

Is Physiotherapy just for sports injuries?

No – Although physiotherapy is commonly associated with sports, a lot of the work we day is with day to day injuries, commonly arising from falls, posture and oversue.

What do I need to wear to my session?

Wear something loose fitting and comfortable. Shorts and a vest top are ideal.

Do I need to see my GP before I can book an appointment?

Your GP does not have to refer you; you can book an appointment yourself, using your private medical insurance or come through a solicitor if making a claim.
